How Tugger works

  1. Connect your business apps (Xero, HubSpot, Simpro, Clockify, and many more)
  2. Sync your data automatically on a daily schedule
  3. Report using Power BI, Tableau, or Excel with pre-built templates or your own reports
  4. Ask questions using AI Insights, powered by Claude, ChatGPT, and others

Get started

If you're new to Tugger, here's the quickest path to getting up and running:

1. Create your account

Sign up at tuggerapp.com and log in for the first time. See Creating Your Account & First Login for a walkthrough.

2. Add your first connector

A connector links Tugger to one of your business apps. Each connector pulls a specific set of data and syncs it automatically.

Choose the setup guide for your app:

3. Wait for your first sync

Once your connector is set up, Tugger will pull your data automatically. You'll receive an email when your data is ready. This can take anywhere from a few minutes to longer depending on how much data you have.

4. Start reporting or asking questions

Once your data is ready, you have two ways to work with it:

Reporting - connect Power BI, Tableau, or Excel to your Tugger data and build dashboards and reports.

AI Insights - ask questions about your data in plain English using an AI platform.

Key concepts

Connector - a link between Tugger and one of your business apps. Each connector syncs data from a single app (or a single organisation within an app, such as one Xero tenant).

Sync - the process of pulling the latest data from your connected app into Tugger. By default, syncs run daily at 08:00 UK time. See Managing Your Sync Schedule.

Report Credentials - a username, password, and OData URL that Power BI, Tableau, or Excel use to connect to your Tugger data. Found on the Report Setup page for each connector.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) - the technology that lets AI platforms like Claude connect securely to your Tugger data. Managed in Tugger MCP Configuration.
