Connect your CompanyCam account to Tugger and start asking questions of your data in plain English with AI Insights - or pull it into Power BI, Tableau, or Excel. Setup takes around 5 minutes.
What you'll need
- A Tugger account (sign up free)
- A CompanyCam account you can sign in to, with access to the company whose data you want to connect
- Nothing to install and no API keys to create - Tugger only ever reads your CompanyCam data, it never changes it
Connecting multiple CompanyCam companies? Each CompanyCam company counts as one connector on your Tugger plan. You can connect as many as your plan allows.
Step 1: Add the CompanyCam connector in Tugger
- Log in to Tugger at tuggerapp.com
- Click Add Connector from the menu
- Find CompanyCam and click Add Connector on its tile
Step 2: Configure your connector
On the Your CompanyCam Connector Settings page, you'll be asked to set up two things:
- Connector Name - give it a name that makes sense to you (e.g. "Acme Roofing CompanyCam"). This is especially helpful if you're connecting more than one CompanyCam company.
- Sync Historical Data From - choose how far back you want Tugger to pull data from. The further back you go, the more data will be stored and the longer your first sync will take.
Click Authorise Access to CompanyCam to save your settings and move on to the next step.
Step 3: Log in to CompanyCam to authorise the connection
Tugger will send you over to CompanyCam so it can securely access your data. This is the same kind of "Sign in with..." process you'll have used with other apps.
- You'll be taken to CompanyCam's Authorization required page
- Sign in with your CompanyCam details, if you aren't signed in already
- Click Authorize to give Tugger permission to read your CompanyCam data
No API keys or technical setup required - just log in and approve. The only permission Tugger asks for is read information, so it can never change or delete anything in your CompanyCam account.
Step 4: Your first sync
Once you've approved the connection, Tugger starts pulling your CompanyCam data automatically. You can follow progress on the Summary page, which confirms that a connection to CompanyCam has been established and that your data is on its way.
Depending on how many projects and photos you have (and how far back your Sync Historical Data From date goes), the first sync can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days. After that, Tugger syncs your data automatically every day at 08:00 UK time by default. You can change this schedule if needed - see Managing Your Sync Schedule.
You'll receive an email (or SMS, if you've enabled it) once your data is ready. At that point you can start asking questions with AI Insights or building reports.
When the first sync has finished, the Summary page shows how long it took, the date and time your data is complete up to, and when the next refresh is due.
What data does Tugger pull from CompanyCam?
Tugger syncs a comprehensive set of your jobsite documentation from CompanyCam, including:
- Projects - your jobsites, with address, status and location detail
- Photos - every photo captured against a project, including who took it, when, and where
- Videos - videos captured on projects, alongside their photos
- Documents - files attached to projects, such as PDFs and contracts
- Checklists - checklists attached to projects, including their tasks and completion detail
- Checklist templates - the reusable templates your checklists are created from
- Comments - comments left on projects and on individual photos
- Tags and project labels - your tag library, the tags applied to photos, and the labels applied to projects
- Users and crew groups - the people in your company and the groups they're organised into
- Project assignments and collaboration - who is assigned to each project, plus invitations and collaborating companies
- Your company account - details of the CompanyCam company the connector is linked to
