If you've loaded a Tugger report template into Power BI Desktop and the report pages are empty or showing no data, work through the steps below.
Check your sync has completed
The most common cause of a blank report is that your Tugger data hasn't finished syncing yet.
- Log in to Tugger at tuggerapp.com
- Go to your connector's Summary page
- Check the sync status
If the sync is still in progress, wait for it to complete. You'll receive an email from Tugger when your data is ready. Once it's done, go back to Power BI Desktop and click Refresh in the Home ribbon.
Check your RangeStart and RangeEnd parameters
If your template uses date range parameters, incorrect values are a common cause of blank reports.
- In Power BI Desktop, go to Home > Transform data > Edit parameters
- Check the following:
- RangeStart should be set to a date far enough back to cover your data (e.g.
01/01/2024 00:00:00) - RangeEnd must be set to a date in the future, after today (e.g.
01/01/2027 00:00:00). If this is set to today's date or a past date, new data will be missed - Both values must be in Date/Time format, not just a date
- The date format must match your Power BI regional settings (File > Options and Settings > Options > Regional Settings)
- After correcting the parameters, click OK, then click Refresh in the Home ribbon
Check your OData URL
Make sure the OData URL you entered matches the one shown on your connector's Report Setup page in Tugger. If the URL is wrong or belongs to a different connector, the report may load without errors but show no data.
- In Power BI Desktop, go to Home > Transform data > Edit parameters
- Compare the OData URL field with the URL on your Tugger Report Setup page
- If they don't match, correct it and click OK, then refresh
Check your credentials
If Power BI can't authenticate with Tugger, it may silently fail to load data.
- In Power BI Desktop, go to File > Options and Settings > Data source settings
- Find the Tugger OData entry and click Edit Permissions
- Click Edit under Credentials and re-enter your Username and Password from Tugger's Report Setup page
- Click Save, then refresh the report
Still blank?
If none of the above resolves the issue:
- Try downloading a fresh copy of the template from Tugger's Report Setup page and starting again
- Check the Data view in Power BI Desktop (left sidebar) to see if any tables have loaded with data. If tables are present but empty, the issue is likely with your date range or sync status. If no tables appear at all, the issue is likely with the OData URL or credentials.
